14.01.2021A Round Table on the topic "Actual problems of modern sports activities in line with the state-patriotic education of youth in modern political conditions" was held on June 3, 2022 at the Southern Federal University in Rostov-on-Don (Russian Federation). The Round Table was moderated by Maxim Bondarev, Vice-Rector of the Southern Federal University, Tatyana Stepanova, Rector of the Academy of Physical Culture and Sports of the Southern Federal University, and Oleg Zakharov, Member of the BoD of the International Athlete Rights Association (IARA). Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Larisa Tutova, First Vice-President of the Russian Student Sports Union Roman Olkhovsky, President of the International Union of Martial Arts Yosef Linder, Head of the Department of Sports Disciplines of the Southern Federal University Nikolai Chertov and Lecturer of the Training Center "Academy of Childhood" of the Luhansk People's Republic Andrey Kashin spoke with reports. The Round Table was also attended by teachers and students of the Southern Federal University, leaders of sports and patriotic clubs and representatives of the sports community of Rostov-on-Don. The problems of the functioning of Russian sports in the conditions of geopolitical changes in the world were discussed at the Round Table, when many international sports organizations made political decisions to isolate and blockade Russian sports, to ban the performance of Russian athletes under the national flag. The Round Table participants made proposals to strengthen the patriotic education of Russian athletes, protect the rights of Russian athletes abroad, create new international sports federations and hold new international competitions in Russia with the participation of friendly countries. Anatoly Peskov, Chairman of the IARA BoD made a report on the problems of protecting the rights of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the current international situation (the report will be published on our website).
