The Blockade of Russian and Belarusian Sports Has Been Broken. Russian and Belarusian Paralympians Will Compete at the Olympic Games Wearing Their National flags.

On September 26, the General Assembly of the International Paralympic Committee in Seoul, Republic of Korea, decided to fully restore the rights and privileges of the Paralympic Committees of Russia and Belarus. This means that athletes from Russia and Belarus will compete in international sporting competitions with their national flags and anthems. We are immensely pleased with this event, which puts an end to the public humiliation of Russian and Belarusian athletes that has persisted for nearly 10 years at the Olympic Games in Brazil, Korea, Japan, and China. Now, Russian athletes will be able to participate equally with others in international competitions in track and field, swimming, powerlifting, sledge hockey, and shooting. We thank the Russian Paralympic Committee for their excellent work in protecting the rights and national dignity of Russian Paralympians. Special thanks go to the leader of Russian sport, the head of the Russian Paralympic Committee, and the outstanding scientist, coach, and athlete Pavel Rozhkov, who, without unnecessary fuss or loud and harsh statements, was able to overcome all the malicious actions of politicians and achieve incredible success in protecting the rights of Russian athletes. We urge the Russian Olympic Committee to work as purposefully and effectively as the Russian Paralympic Committee. We urge the Russian Olympic Committee to think beyond protecting the rights of "neutral" athletes. We remind the Russian Olympic Committee that its primary task is to protect the rights of all Russian athletes in international sport. We are convinced that Russian sport cannot exist without a flag, a banner, and patriotism. No one has the right to humiliate Russia or the national dignity of our citizens and athletes. Raise higher the banner of Russian sport.
