The IARA BoD unanimously awarded the title of “Honorary Director” to Anna Di Giandomenico (Italy), Majed Garoub (Saudi Arabia), Angel José Luis Iriarte (Spain) and Denis Rogachev (Russia) based on the results of their active public work in our Organization.

The IARA BoD unanimously awarded the title of “Honorary Director” to Anna Di Giandomenico (Italy), Majed Garoub (Saudi Arabia), Angel José Luis Iriarte (Spain) and Denis Rogachev (Russia) based on the results of their active public work in our Organization.


Anna Di Giandomenico, with the participation of our Organization, held scientific conferences at the University of Teramo (Italy) in 2021 and 2022. At the Round Table held by our Organization in Novosibirsk (April 2023, Russia), she made proposals for the depoliticization of international sports. According to Di Giandomenico, recognition of the Olympic flag as the only legal flag at all Olympic Games would correspond to Baron De Coubertin's ideas about the international essence of Olympism. Anna Di Giandomenico is an associate professor at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Teramo (Italy), a member of the Italian Society for Philosophy of Law, Director of the Italian Institute of Bioethics, and a member of the International Association of Sports Law BoD. She is also the author of numerous scientific textbooks, monographs, articles on sports law and bioethics.

Majed Garoub spoke at the Round Table of our Organization in Novosibirsk in April 2023. In his speech, Mr. Garoub called all international sports organizations to abandon declarative statements and begin to really protect the rights of athletes. He demanded that international sports federations comply with their Statutes and Regulations, which prohibit the interference of religion and politics in sports affairs and not allow any discrimination against athletes from any country. Majed Garoub is a well-known expert in the field of sports law in Saudi Arabia and throughout the Middle East, a member of the BoD of the International Association of Sports Law (IASL). For a long time he was a member of the FIFA Legal Committee, Chairman of the Legal and Disciplinary Committees of the Saudi Football Federation. He heads the firm called “Law Firm of Majed M. Garoub (LFMG)” and actively sponsors and supports various projects in sports, in particular those related to the development of women's sports and e-sports, and motorcycle racing. His social, legal, and sponsorship activities are widely covered in the media in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Iriarte Angel José Luis always supports the position of our Organization on key issues of international sports and the protection of athletes' rights. We are immensely grateful to Mr. Iriarte for this support and highly appreciate his objective and peacemaking position. Mr. Iriarte is a Jean Monnet Professor of European Union, teaches private international law at the University of Navarra (Spain), he is also an attorney at the international law firm Lupicinio and a member of the Working Group on Emergency Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce. He has taught private international law at more than 20 universities around the world, including the USA, France, Germany, Japan and Brazil. We really hope that his scientific research in the field of conflict situations and the application of international sanctions will allow our Organization to develop effective legal measures to protect the rights of athletes around the world.


Denis Rogachev participated in scientific events of our Organization at the University of Teramo (Italy, May 2022) and Novosibirsk (Russia, April 2023). Mr. Rogachev actively advocates for the “political neutrality” of international sports organizations and proposes to give a clear legal definition of this concept in international law. At the Round Table in Novosibirsk, Mr. Rogachev proposed thinking about creating a system of alternative international team competitions in cases where athletes from certain countries are not allowed to compete for political reasons. He is also a supporter of the idea of ​​providing Olympic champions with diplomatic passports for free movement throughout all countries of the world. Mr. Rogachev is an Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation, Deputy General Secretary of the Russian Football Union, and Head of the Department of Sports Law at Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafin, member of the UEFA Committee on Player Status, Transfers and Agents. He is the author of numerous scientific works, the main initiator and developer of major bills in the field of professional Russian sports, a talented scientist and teacher, one of the best sports lawyers in Russia. Mr. Rogachev has been a member of our Organization since its formation (October 2020). We wish further success to this extraordinary and talented person in his noble mission to protect the rights of athletes.

The International Athlete Rights Association (IARA) thanks all members of our Organization for supporting the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Olympic Charter, as well as the course of our Organization to unite athletes and humanity for preserve peace on our planet.
