International Athlete Rights Association (IARA) Took Part in a Round Table on the Topic "Possibilities of using mediation in sports"

On the Black Sea coast, in the foothills of the Caucasian ridge (city of Anapa), on July 12, 2021, a Round Table on the problems of "Possibilities of using mediation in sports" was held at the Raevsky Golf Club.

   The event was organized by the International Journal of Mediation in Eurasia in cooperation with the Russian Golf Association. Among the key speakers of the Roundtable were representatives of the International Athlete Rights Association. In particular, the well-known sports figure of Russia, member of the of the IARA BoD, head of the Rostov branch, head of the Commission on combat sports and martial arts of our organization, Ph.D. Oleg Zakharov. In addition, Ilya Lukyanov, a member of the Rostov regional branch of the International Athlete Rights Association, took the most active part in the work of the Round Table.

    The Roundtable participants discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the International Athlete Rights Association  and leading national mediators and lawyers in the field of sports law.

   Mediation is a confidential and voluntary type of alternative dispute resolution in which an independent third party, in the form of a mediator, assists the parties in negotiations to resolve conflicts peacefully. This is a kind of culture for resolving disputes in sports between athletes, coaches, parents of young athletes, sports organizations and governing bodies in the field of physical culture and sports.

   We wish success to the proactive and talented leaders and members of the Rostov branch of the International Athlete Rights Association in their noble work for protecting the rights of athletes and selfless activities for the promotion martial arts.
