In the afternoon of  1st  March,  a webinar, organized by university of Teramo, took place. During this webinar prof. Karina Zalcmane had a guest lecture on Different approaches to counter sports crimes. This lecture fall within the Erasmus agreement recently signed between Eka University and the University of Teramo.

Such lecture offered to all participants much food for thought, highlighting, firstly, the specific approach of criminology to sports crimes. Then, offering a panorama of different approaches, adopted by States all over the world (Latvia, France, Spain, US and China). And, finally, stressing the differences between criminal procedures and sports jurisdiction, which give rise to some issues, especially for that concerns athletes.

Prof. Luigi Mstrangelo (Coordinator of the Mater on  Communication and Policies for sport) gave his greets in the opening. Then Anatoly Peskov from Moscow offered to all participants some suggestions, which on the one side introduced Karina’s speech and, on the other side, opened further suggestions, useful for the next webinar, which will take place on 17th May. The IASL President, prof. Dimitrios Panagiotopoulos  couldn’t participate, because of his commitments in the National Anti-doping Committee, but sent a message to all participants.

Besides the students of Master, there are several members of IARA, as well as IASL. Among them, just cite in addition to the already mentioned Karina and Anatoly, Rares Stanescu, Alexandru Virgil Voicu (both IARA and IASL member) from Romania, Maria Francesca Serra (IASL member) from Italia, Alex Iglin (IARA) from Russia, and Balazs Farkas (IASL) from Hungary. Each one actively contributed to the discussion after Karina’s speech, giving rise to an interesting debate on the future of regulation of doping, especially in Europe.
