The Difficult International Situation did not Become an Obstacle to the Opening of a Branch of the International Athlete Rights Association in Italy.
06.11.2023
Our Organization continues to work to expand its geographical boundaries and attract talented morally motivated people into our ranks who are ready to preserve the unity of international sports, unite humanity and prevent the Third World War. We cannot calmly watch how children and women are being killed today, their peaceful homes are being deliberately destroyed, as well as young people without arms and legs on the streets of cities, their numerous graves in cemeteries in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. We really want international sport to unite humanity and end all wars on the planet. We very much hope that the newly created Branch in Italy will actively participate in our peacekeeping and human rights activities in the field of international sports.
The Branch was headed by Maria Francesca Serra, who is well known to many members of our Organization. Professor Maria Francesca Serra is an attorney at law in sports, private and family law, PhD (2010), teaches sports law at the Faculty of Law at the Niccolò Cusano University (Rome, Italy), she is engaged in scientific work at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) and lectures on sports ethics. She is the author of a number of monographs and numerous articles on sports law issues. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of the well-known Italian legal scientific journal “Topical Issues of Law”, where she oversees the section of sports law. Professor Serra is a supporter of gender equality in professional sports and the protection of athletes' rights in general. She is an active member of the International Association of Sports Law (IASL, Greece) and the Sport and Recreation Sports Association (SRLA, USA), and she has participated in international sports law conferences held in Italy, USA, Russia, Malta, Morocco, Greece and other countries. We wish success to Professor Maria Francesca Serra in her noble and selfless public work in the name of preserving the unity of international sports and peace on our wonderful planet.
