The Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RHF) and the Russian Association of Lawyers (RAL) held a joint meeting on December 22.
Vladimir Katkov, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, made a report on the results of the work. The report stated a significant increase in applications from athletes, sports clubs and other subjects of Russian hockey to the RHF Disciplinary Committee, which indicates the increased authority of this jurisdictional body. According to the speaker, the growth of authority was facilitated by an objective and fair consideration of sports disputes, qualified consideration of cases by arbitrators and fair legal decisions made by the Disciplinary Committee on violations of sports law and current Russian legislation. Vladimir Katkov also highly appreciated the level of interaction between the RHF Disciplinary Committee and the Russian Association of Lawyers and expressed confidence that this interaction will be expanded and strengthened in 2023.
Arbitrator of the RHF Disciplinary Committee, Chairman of the IARA BoD Anatoly Peskov and Executive Director - Head of the Office of the RAL Elena Spiridonova also agreed to strengthen cooperation, in particular, on the joint participation of members of their public organizations in international conferences on issues of unity world sports and the protection of the rights of athletes.
All members of the RHF Disciplinary Committee warmly thanked Elena Spiridonova for her excellent work in organizing the joint meeting of the RHF Disciplinary Committee and the Russian Association of Lawyers.
